You should be aware that several factors can affect your Resting Metabolic Rate.

  • A high percentage of lean muscle can increase your RMR.
  • Eating small, regular meals can help to increase your RMR
  • Both pregnancy and living in a cold environment can actually contribute to an increase in your RMR
  • Factors that can decrease your Resting Metabolic Rate are crash dieting, aging, and genetics.
