I joined Curves in August of 2007 to prepare for a 4-day hike across the Grand Canyon. The hike was so fun, and when it was over, I returned to the circuit. My biggest reason for working out at Curves is to protect and maintain my health. With a stressful but physically undemanding career and family history of cancer and diabetes, regular exercise is important. Curves keeps me in good phisical condition for the ballroom dancing, hiking and showshoeing that I love.

I joined Curves on May 21, 2009. I must say this was the best decision I ever could have made for myself. My physical as well as mental health were very out of shape. The staff at Canyon Road Curves has made this experience a blast! They have been very supportive and eager to help me meet my health goals. I started the Weight Management program a couple weeks after joining Curves and thoroughly enjoy the program. Since being on the program and learning proper eating habits, I no longer have those cravings I used to experience. My family comments on the new & improved me and is very supportive of my new, healthy lifestyle. My time being a member of Curves has shown me that the reason for my success is the overall change in my attitude and my desire for a better me. Thank you Curves!

That shape is still no competition for a 20 year-old in a bikini but the good thing is, I am 85 years-old and I can still MOVE! I look around the "Over 55" mobile home park where I live and see some women much younger than I am who do not have the suppleness and strength that I have and I am thankful. (I tell them all to get with it and go to Curves) What's so special about my Curves? You walk in to the exercise room and it's bright, cheerful and alive-looking. You are greeted, by name I might add, by Sue (the owner) or one of the exercise consultants. You are smiled upon and made to feel liked, cared about and at home. The hours of operation and set-up are such that you can go at anytime that fits into your own unique schedule. You get a 45 minute workout that leaves you refreshed and happier than when you walked in. The strength machines get to every part of your body and ~except for the push-up one (squat) which I can avoid if I want to~ are so user friendly that it's easy to do them right. If you don't, someone will gently correct you without making you feel pinpointed and gracefulness challenged. The other ladies who come in all have the same goals, losing weight and getting toned. Some (like Hollie) love to converse , which creates a family atmosphere and makes the time pass quickly. And last but certainly not least, there are NO MEN! You can be yourself without feeling you are being ogled and probably found wanting.
