Fiesta Day Parade

Curves West Point Grey will be participating in the Fiesta Day parade again this year.  We will have a float in the parade and this year it will be bigger and better than ever!  Watch us at 10:00am roll down 10th Ave. with the salsa music blastin'!  Every year, the Fiesta Day fun brings thousands of on lookers, and so we're really looking forward to all the community fun.

Artist of the Month - Brenda Carr and Mayre Elaine Kennedy

Come by to see our fabulously bright painting covering our walls.  They erupt a gasp of amazement to all onlookers.  We are enjoying Maryre's work immensly!  Also, Brenda's necklaces are hanging on our walls so it makes for quite a creative and interactive show.  Here is Mayre's Bio:

Marie Elaine Kennedy

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Ms. Kennedy lives and paints in the Victoria/Oak Bay area.  She also does commissioned work.  Travels have taken her to the tropics, across the continental USA, and the UK, where colour and the quality of light inspired her to paint vividly.  She also lived and worked for many years in the Canadian Shield.  She has studied the Impressionists, the Group of Seven, our own Emily Carr, and Aboriginal mystique.  Maryre works primarily with acrylics, graphite and watercolour.

Summer Specials

We are pleased to keep our 30 days for $30 special going until August 1st.  We will also be handing out one-week-free flyers at the parade.
Summer is a great time to sign up at Curves.  Typically a bit slower, it's cheaper to join as we look for members and you avoid the fall rush, getting a lot of one on one attention.  The summer time is one when we're wearing less clothing and hitting the beach, so be sure to get a jump start on your fitness!

Staff Updates

Sadly, Anya has left our club - but we're very happy that she stayed with us for over a year!  We had lots of laughs with her and enjoyed bubbly and bright personality.  In her place, Pauline Petit and Jennifer Smith have been hired.  Pauline is a previous member at Curves and has already lost 6 inches, 5.5lbs, and 3.59% body fat.
Jen is studing to be a fitness trainer and nutritional coach.
